Open to commissioned, homemade, or store-bought costumes from any genre, as well as original designs, the chibi cosplay runway & cosplay contest are fun, stress-free ways for you or your little ones to strut your stuff on the biggest stage at ax chibi 2025, right after the chibi cosplay parade!

• Chibi Cosplay Parade

                    o Open to all participants of the chibi cosplay runway & contest after check-in 

                       at Mahoko’s Hideaway.

• Chibi Cosplay Runway 

                    o Cosplay showcase for ages 13 and younger.

                    o All participants receive a certificate of participation.

• Chibi Cosplay Contest

                    o Cosplay contest for ages 14 and older.

                    o This contest is a walk-on; no pre-event preparation or skits are required!

                    o Prizes will be awarded based on stage presence and presentation in the 

                        following categories:

                            1. First, Second, and Third Place Awards

                           2. Judge’s Choice Awards

Event Details

Date: Day 3 – Sunday, November 9

Check-in Time: 2:00 PM

Check-in Location: Mahoko’s Hideaway

Event Time: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Event Location: Chibi Plaza Stage

General Rules for All Participants 

• You must have a valid anime expo chibi credential for the day of the contest.
• Adherence to anime expo chibi’s cosplay and weapons policy is mandatory.
• All costumes, even barefoot characters, must include shoes.
• Participants will be immediately disqualified if they paint their skin to appear as a different real-world race. Fantasy skin colors (green, blue, etc.) are permitted.
• What comes on stage must leave the stage. This means the cosplay must not shed; all body paint must be properly sealed, and no confetti, loose glitter, flash powder, etc., or open flame of any kind will be allowed to be part of the cosplay.
• All participants must arrive at the designated call time to be lined up with fellow participants.
• Event details and regulations are subject at SPJA’s discretion.

How to sign up

Signups are available at cosplay repair (Ballroom A) during the dates and times below:

          a. chibi cosplay runway:

                     i. November 9, 2025 (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

          b. chibi cosplay showcase:

                     i. November 7-8, 2025 (9:00 AM – 10:00PM)

                     ii. November 9, 2025 (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

The Day Of

         1. Check in at Mahoko’s Hideaway stage on: November 9th, 2025 @12:30 PM.

         2. After checking in at Mahoko’s Hideaway stage, participants will parade to Chibi 

             Plaza Stage.

         3. Contestant(s) will be announced by the MC

         4. Participants will pose 3 times on the stage for pictures.

         5. They will exit the stage.

         6. After all participants have walked, awards will be given out, and a group photo will 

             be taken.

Please note that the stage is approximately 3 ft off the ground. Cosplayers must be able to navigate the stairs. For accommodation, please reach out in advance to masquerade@anime-expo.org. A handler is allowed to accompany the cosplayer on stage if the cosplay or attendee requires one.
